Sponsorship and Participation Opportunities
The
auto racing industry has reached #1 as the most watched spectator sport
in America.
Greater
than any other professional sport in the USA. The recent increase
in Ford Racing
popularity
has a great impact on the Ford product. This increase has had a great impact
on
the local
racing popularity as well. The weekly car count has increased from
an average of
56 cars
a night to an average of 128, 43 of which are Fords. The local racing
industry
provides
a sponsor tremendous consumer awareness of their product and service.
It is key
for products
to have strong awareness, because in this world of multiple product choices,
the
consumer
will choose a product that it has some association with (number of impressions).
It is also
a fact that local racing participants, spectators, and others in the sport
honor local
sponsorships
as their way of supporting local racing. Enhanced consumer loyalty
is often a
by-product
of corporate sponsorships. This type of advertising is a highly
effective means of
reaching
their target market at 100 mph. This offers the sponsor to be identified
with an
appealing
lifestyle and culture, and increase the company's "community goodwill".
The
Fortune
500 companies read like a "Who's Who" when it comes to racing advertising.
Racing
sponsorship offers advertising, promotional, and marketing opportunities
unparalleled
in both
their low cost, and effectiveness, as well as the tax incentives. This
Ford four cylinder
modified
champion is an excellent car to wear your logo, to participate in your
promotions,
and to
carry your message to your market. Promotion minded racing teams
such as ours can
accommodate
this interest by participating in promotional appearances, newsletters,
flyers,
car shows,
local sports coverage, and extensive web coverage on our site, as well
as
"Who Won.com",
"Behind the Wheel", "Louisiana Dirt", (all updated weekly), among others.
This may
help you make a decision as to your level of desire to promote your business
through
our race team.
The possibilities of in-house promotion are unlimited. Imagine awarding
your "Employee of the
Month"
with an invite to participate with us at a meet with the "Company's Race
Car", or an
opportunity
to participate with the Douglas Racing Team as a member of the pit crew.
Valued
customers
can be entertained for the evening at the track, sharing in the excitement,
watching the car
"fly the
company's colors". Underwriting a race car can provide tangible,
real benefits in employee
moral as
workers follow the progress of "their car" through newsletters, local sports
coverage, and
promotional
appearances as desired by the sponsor. Even small businesses realize
the benefits of
advertising
"their" sponsored race car in the newspaper, special events, car shows,
and watching
it draw
traffic in front of their establishment while on display. Some companies
who don't deal directly
with the
public have learned the value of a racing sponsorship. Your corporate
logo will be
prominently
displayed on the Douglas Racing Team race car, car hauler, and team uniforms.
Logo can
be visible
on the hood, front and rear fenders, spectator side, back straight side,
trunk and rear of the
race car.
Sponsors are also listed on the car's information sheet for the announcer,
and announced
approximately
4 times per event. Trophies will be provided from the races and your
company will
receive
extensive coverage on the Speed Demons web site, which has an average of
350-500 users
weekly
during racing season. Our racing season starts in February with play
days (test and tune),
and regular
points racing starting in March, and finishing at the end of October.
Feel free to check
out the
sites mentioned above, and any other statistical information needed to
complete your
decision,
any other data required will be furnished immediately upon the sponsor's
request.

Our position and accomplishments
Douglas
Racing Team #69 is in an elite class of the four cylinder modifieds.
Racing a Ford 2.3 OHC
modified
engine, as the NASCAR Lincoln Welder ARCA Trucks, MSRA, and USAC Midgets.
The crankshaft
is stroked, the camshaft is a .656 lift roller, with 14 to 1 compression
ratio.
Our modified
stock cast iron cylinder head flows at 205 cfm on the Super Flow SF-600.
This engine
has horsepower
of 300, and 258 pounds of torque, at 8400 rpm. Budget limitations
have forced us
to use
a modified stock cylinder head, instead of the Ford Motorsports aluminum
cylinder head with
intake,
and a stock block, instead of the Ford Motorsports (Esslinger) aluminum
tall SVO block, and
a stock
Holley 500 instead of a Barry Grant Holley 500. These enhancements
could greatly increase
our horsepower,
torque and rpm, giving us more speed to elude the competitors. The
NASCAR Lincoln
Welder
ARCA trucks, USAC Midgets, and the MSRA Pro-4 also race this engine,
using the Ford
Motorsports
parts mentioned above.
Douglas Racing Team #69 was points champion for the year 1999, with 12
feature wins, and
numerous
top 5 finishes, and repeating points champion again in 2000, with
13 feature wins, and
numerous
top 5 finishes. Both 1999 and 2000 Mid Season champion on the 4th
of July, as well as
the Champion
of both Labor Day Blowouts. Douglas Racing Team has won the perfect
attendance
award for
both 1999 and 2000 seasons. We also hold the track record for our
class at 16:456 on a
dirt 3/8
mile oval track. This team has a very large fan base, we have numerous
photos of this car
with many
different spectators. The number "69" was picked to resemble the
yin yang design
for a "perfect
balance".
